The Diamond Engagement Rings
Engagement rings indicate a woman's status. It signifies here intention as an eventual bride to his soon-to-be groom. There is nothing more first-class and grandiose gift a man can give to his bride than a diamond engagement ring.
However, before buying that perfect gift, you must first consider the following: your budget for the diamond ring (whether you pay it in full or by installments), try asking from friends and colleagues some suggestions on reputable jewelers, find out your girlfriend's ring size, and look the four C's of diamonds; these are the clarity, color, carat, and the cut.
The diamond engagement ring's clarity speaks for its value; that is the clearer the diamond the more expensive it will be. The highest clarity ring contains the Ws, Vs, and Si inclusions.
It is usually thought that diamonds are colorless. However, contrary to this belief, diamonds have different mixture of colors. In fact, it is evaluated according to its tint. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has formulated the classification for grading diamond colors. These are D-E-F (colorless), G-H-I-J (virtually colorless), K-L-M (yellowish in color), N-O-P-Q-R (evenly tinted with yellow colors), and S-T-U-V-W-X-Y-Z (yellow or brown tinted diamonds).
The carat is the weight of the diamond and not its size dimension. Each carat has an equivalent value of 100 points.
The cut of the diamond also adds to its value. It illustrates the diamond's depth and width sizes. It also shows the diamond's smooth surface, brilliance, and durability. The usual figures of diamonds are marquise (its mid-sections has a poor ratio), round brilliant cut (the most common diamond engagement ring shape), pear shaped (its figure is similar to a teardrop), princess (square cut), heart shaped (fat or elongated in its form), square and rectangular, oval, emerald, baguette, trilliant (used as focal stones), and cushion.
